Valentine’s Day has come and gone, and within a month, spring will be in our grasp. That’s important here in the upper Midwest where, thanks to an unusually cool summer, one “really” bad winter and one “pretty” bad, we feel like we haven’t seen the sun in about 18 months.
FORTUNATELY, we’re a lighting company in the business of making bright things. I personally have taken to sleeping with a G-Max 150 next to my bed, and I have it programmed to gradually brighten to retina-detaching levels once the old alarm clock hits 5:00am. I’m waking up more refreshed than ever, although Katy doesn’t seem to be enjoying it quite as much.
Which brings me to my point (finally). In just about a week, we’ll be back from Mobile Beat Las Vegas (get your tickets now while they’re still available!), and we’ll be setting up the ole video shootin’ rig here at Blizzard HQ, and hunkerin’ down for a whole round of product videos. So stay tuned to our Facebook/YouTube pages AND THIS SPOT for lots of fun, informative new product videos soon.
The making of our product videos is one of my favorite parts of bringing a new fixture to market. We’re fortunate to have a great product development team headed by our buddy Joel, and a great “resident LD,” Jason, who really come up with some great designs to showcase what the products can do. But there’s only so much you can show in a 5-minute video with no performers, minimal staging, and the same space.
What I’m driving at is that while OUR videos are “one of” my favorite parts, YOUR photos and videos are ABSOLUTELY my favorite part. Really—seeing our products out in the real world is a highlight of my job here. It takes me back to when we were struggling at the kitchen table with Lil G’s math homework; and then I see him out, entertaining the masses. It makes a father proud.
So… if you have photos or videos of our products in action, SEND ‘EM OVER! Shoot us a message on Facebook, Instagram, or via email, and we’ll get them up for all to see… and we’ll even send you some fun Blizzard swag! What a deal!
As always, thanks so much for being the most important part of the Blizzard team, and I look forward to seeing all your pictures and videos! Stay warm, and we’ll see you next month.
